Life is full of teachable moments. The best lessons are the ones that make us stronger. The ad industry has struggled for decades to admit the TRUTH about diversity. Yearly hundreds if not thousands of bright minds of color swarm to the ad industry with hopes of evolving the culture engrossed in the past into one that matches are our current cultural landscape. However, once in the door many realize the industry is the total opposite of inclusive and diverse. But rather an industry that talks about diversity and whose actions say otherwise. Instead, they find themselves underutilized, underrepresented, and under-appreciated on all levels.

Due to the fact that people of color represent less than 20% of the industry as a whole, it is important to share their voices, insights, and experiences on why the industry has such a hard time acquiring and retaining talent of color. Many suffer in silence in fear that they may never have the opportunity to be a part of the industry again, while others boldly voice their frustrations. TRUTH is an intimate conversation with industry thought leaders Kai Deveraux Lawson (Mixed Company Podcast) and Mariam Guessous (I SEE YOU WELLNESS) on the current state of the ad industry in regard to people of color and future of the industry with or without them.
